Building Description
With a name like The Waldorf Astoria Lofts it is no shock that the building is a grand and gorgeous piece of architecture. The eight-storey building is made of beige stone with detailing wrapping up the corners of the building. Tall windows adorn the front of the building and dormers peak out of the slightly slanted tin roof. The beautiful style of the building is more akin to a structure from Paris rather than other Toronto Loft. The former hotel is now home to 131 units ranging from around 350 to 1,300 square feet, the majority of these units being one-bedroom suites. The units received much needed renovations to the kitchens and bathrooms and additions like walk-in closets and electric fireplaces were added as well. Residents at The Waldorf Astoria Lofts also gain access to a gym and sauna, and a rooftop deck that rivals any view in the city. The lofts’ location in Downtown Toronto could not be better. Just south of Bloor and sandwiched between Church and Jarvis everything the residents need is all within walking distance. The area directly around The Waldorf is a nice mix of established homes and new developments giving a unique vibe to the neighbourhood. The famous Yorkville with its fine dining and designer shopping is a short walk away. Other great restaurants, shops and bars can be found all along Yonge just a block west of the lofts. Greenspaces like Riverdale Park are also just a few minutes away. The location of the lofts means all transportation needs are met. Those who rely on the TTC have it easy both the Yonge and Bloor subway lines have stations less than a five-minute walk away. For car goers Yonge street and the Don Valley Parkway are great options to get around the city.
